Dr. Adam Atiku, BSc (Human Biology), MBChB, MHPE, MRCP, MTI (RCP) Fellow in Nephrology.
Dr. Adam Atiku was the Director of Medical Affairs of the Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH), and a practicing nephrologist, physician, and a senior lecturer at UDS School of Medicine until his appointment as CEO of TTH in November 2022.
Over the past ten years as a clinician and lecturer, his focus has been on expanding access to dialysis treatment in Northern Ghana and prevention of kidney diseases through public education and community engagement.
He loves to teach and holds a joint master’s degree in Health Professions Education from the Suez Canal University, Egypt and the University of Maastricht, Netherlands. He has been involved in the training of medical students, House officers and residents for several years.
Since joining the management of the Tamale Teaching Hospital, he has been working to transform the hospital into a model reference center in Ghana through quality leadership and leveraging on strategic partnerships and collaborations.
His research interest is in understanding the causes and epidemiology of kidney disease in Ghana especially glomerular diseases and genetics of kidney diseases.
